Buy Local Day & the Be Local BASH!!

Capital District Local First (CDLF) is hosting its 2nd annual Buy Local Bash this November. We hope you will join us by representing your business at a table during the event, or as an attendee with your friends, family, colleagues or business partners. This event guarantees to be well attended: as a collective of local, independent business owners we are 70+ strong with an email contact list of hundreds. We are working with Metroland to ensure Cooperative Advertising (see page 3) for the Bash and the Sanctuary is renowned for throwing a great party and drawing large crowds. Our businesses can only benefit from this excitement, but we need everyone to participate! Here are the specifics:

The Buy Local Bash will happen on Saturday, November 15th, from 5-9 pm at the Sanctuary for Independent Media, 3361 6th Avenue, North Troy, NY.  

CDLF is underwriting the majority of the advertising costs, plus arranging for musicians and a special speaker to be at the Buy Local Bash. Laury Hammel, co-founder of BALLE (Business Alliance for Local Living Economies), from Boston, will be on hand to MC the evening and inspire us all. He is an entrepreneur, successful independent business owner, and author of Growing Local Value: How to Build Business Partnerships that Strengthen Your Community (Berrett-Kohler).

To occupy a table for the duration of the evening we simply ask that you contribute $20 (or bring your own table), plus everything else you will need for a successful evening of sales, communicating, and educating {tablecloth, food or product samples, literature, etc}.

We encourage every business and non-profit leader/organization to bring things to sell. This event will be billed as a holiday shopping kick-off party, so please come prepared with merchandise, food and drink samples (if applicable), gift certificates, brochures, catalogues, menus, business cards, and anything else pertinent to making the night exciting for guests and profitable, and fun, for you. This is a great opportunity to network with like-minded business-owners and also reach a loyal customer base dedicated to buying-being-and banking locally!
